Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan Inc. in Phoenix, AZ seeks a seasoned commissioning professional to plan, develop and implement commissioning plans for capital projects. The role interfaces with EPCM contractors to prepare pre-commissioning and startup strategies and requires reviewing P&IDs and turnover packages.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop and implement comprehensive commissioning plans for capital projects
• Coordinate with EPCM contractor to obtain pre-commissioning plan for wet/ore commissioning and startup
• Review P&IDs, design drawings and specs to understand project areas and pre-commissioning systems
• Ensure turnover packages align with EPCM-defined structure and flow sheets
• Provide input on TOP structure to EPCM for logical turnover sequence
• Identify scope outside EPCM battery limits requiring owner-supplied items and integrate into commissioning plans
• Collaborate with Construction Managers and discipline Superintendents to align construction and commissioning
• Develop commissioning schedules, plans, procedures and conduct punchlist inspections
• Capture all commissioning activities in project systems and prepare turnover documentation
• Direct the activities of consultants and contractors
• Perform other duties as required

Education

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field

What You Will Do

• Responsible for planning, developing and implementing comprehensive commissioning plans, manpower resources and managing the pre-commissioning and commissioning effort effectively as required for start up of capital projects.
• Work with EPCM contractor to obtain pre-commissioning plan to be used as the basis for the wet/ore commissioning and start up plan.
• Review a P&IDs, design drawings and specifications to fully understand designated project areas and pre-commissioning systems and subsystems.
• Understand structure of turn over packages as defined on markup P&ID's and flow sheets furnished by the EPCM.
• Provide input as needed on TOP structure to EPCM as required to ensure logical turnover sequence.
• Review all scope outside EPCM battery limits for items to be supplied by owner; any interface items required for successful plant startup such as power supply, water supply, control system design and supply, reagents, raw material feed supplies, ancillary systems, etc. shall be included in the integrated commissioning plans as well as an integrated construction and mechanical completion milestone schedule.
• Collaborate with Construction Managers and discipline Superintendents to understand construction sequence and upcoming areas for pre-commissioning and commissioning.
• Develop commissioning schedule, plans, and procedures and conducts punchlist inspections.
• Ensure that all commissioning activities are captured in the project systems and works with Document Controls to prepare turnover package documentation.
• Direct the activities of consultants and contractors.
• Perform other duties as required.

What You Bring To Freeport

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent in training and/or field experienceanda minimum ten (10) years of experience in the field,OR
• High School diploma or GEDanda minimum fifteen (15) years progressive experience in the field

What We Offer You

The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $112,000-$160,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional incentive compensation considerations based on company and individual performance. Additionally, this position is currently eligible for annual long-term incentive consideration. Long-term incentives are contingent upon authorized approval under the terms and conditions of the Company's plan and award agreements. More details will be shared during the hiring process.

What We Require

Freeport-McMoRan promotes a drug/alcohol-free work environment using mandatory pre-employment drug testing as allowed by applicable laws.

Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 80% of the time (up to 40% domestic travel and up to 40% international travel), based on business needs. Domestic travel may require extended time at operating sites, including week-long assignments or longer. International travel typically involves trips of two weeks or more. This position also requires a minimum of two days per week working on-site at company locations and may require additional on-site presence based on operational needs.
