Job summary

Moss Energy seeks a Commissioning Assistant Manager to lead startup and commissioning of utility-scale solar and BESS projects. You will supervise commissioning teams, oversee testing and energization, and ensure safety and reliability before energization.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a leadership or senior technical role commissioning electrical systems within solar, BESS, or utility/industrial sectors.
• Advanced knowledge of electrical testing methods, specialized equipment, and NETA standards.
• Strong ability to interpret control logic, advanced technical drawings, and protective relay settings.
• Demonstrated experience in field execution management including troubleshooting, team coordination, and project reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise testing and commissioning of medium- and low-voltage electrical systems, including inverters, transformers, and BESS power distribution equipment.
• Oversee the execution of NETA-based testing—such as Megger insulation resistance, VOC, VLF, and TTR—to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Manage startup, energization, and complex troubleshooting of AC and DC components, guiding field technicians on solar and BESS sites.
• Review electrical drawings and one-line diagrams to verify installation quality and resolve field issues.
• Coordinate with construction leads, SCADA teams, and utility partners for system integration and communication protocols.
• Finalize commissioning documentation, test results, and turnover packages to meet milestones and standards.
• Enforce safety protocols and NEC/NFPA 70E across the team; audit energy isolation procedures (LOTO).
• Support Commissioning Director in resource planning, scheduling, and progress reporting across multiple sites.
