Job summary

Moss Energy is seeking a skilled Commissioning Technician to support startup and delivery of utility-scale solar and battery energy storage projects. This role focuses on commissioning electrical systems to ensure safe, reliable energization across AC/DC components.

The incumbent will perform NETA-based testing, interpret drawings, and coordinate with construction and SCADA teams while traveling to multi-state project sites. Commitment to safety and quality is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience commissioning electrical systems in solar, BESS, or utility/industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of electrical testing methods and equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and control logic.
• Hands-on troubleshooting and field execution experience.
• Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing and commissioning of medium- and low-voltage electrical systems, including inverters and power distribution equipment.
• Execute NETA-based testing (Megger insulation resistance, VOC Testing, VLF, TTR).
• Support system startup, energization, and troubleshooting of AC/DC components on solar and BESS projects.
• Interpret drawings and diagrams to verify installation and resolve field issues.
• Coordinate with construction and SCADA teams for proper integration.
• Document commissioning activities and turnover packages per standards.
• Maintain adherence to safety protocols and electrical codes.
• Implement energy isolation procedures (LOTO).
