Job summary

RigUp, Inc. seeks a senior Commissioning Lead to drive field execution and technical management of project commissioning and start‑up deliverables. You will coordinate across field teams, contractors, and operations to ensure equipment and systems are fully operational before handover.

Responsibilities include planning, hands-on testing of PLCs and instrumentation, outage management, and rigorous safety adherence across US pipeline projects. Travel to field sites will be required.

Qualifications

• Education: Technical College Degree or Diploma in an engineering or technical discipline.
• Experience: 10+ years of field commissioning, electrical, instrumentation, or mechanical systems execution.
• Field expertise: hands-on field technician/engineer with self‑commissioning capability.
• Codes & standards: API, NEC, CEC, CSA Z662, NFPA 11 knowledge.
• Leadership: lead multi-disciplinary teams and coordinate diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop commissioning and start-up plans, budgets, and schedules for brownfield and greenfield assets.
• Independently execute in-house commissioning activities: wiring, configuration, calibration, startup, testing, troubleshooting of PLCs, instrumentation, control panels, and comms.
• Oversee outage planning and handovers from Construction to Commissioning to Operations with rigorous deficiency tracking.
• Direct and supervise third-party contractors and internal teams to meet safety, quality, scope, and timelines.
• Analyze and resolve technical issues; update procedures and operating standards.
• Participate in multi-disciplinary design reviews to embed commissioning requirements early.
• Enforce safety and regulatory compliance (LOTO, Electrical Safety, Permits).
• Provide leadership and mentorship to Commissioning Coordinators and project staff.
