Job summary

Mortenson Construction seeks a Senior Commissioning Manager to drive and lead project commissioning activities, with emphasis on testing, documentation, and turnover. You will engage across disciplines, coach teams, and work with contractors to resolve issues during testing.

Responsibilities include developing test procedures, conducting training, and supporting business development on new projects, with travel up to 50% as needed. This is a senior, on-site role in Colorado.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher in a related engineering discipline, or 15+ years field experience.
• 8+ years in construction management or commissioning in MEP contexts.
• Strong understanding of design-build processes and QA/QC.
• Deep knowledge of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, controls).
• Willingness to travel up to 50% across multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Execute and direct functional performance testing in the field.
• Draft technical documents for issue resolutions and lessons learned.
• Conduct training and educational sessions within your discipline.
• Coordinate across disciplines for construction coordination and issue resolution.
• Collaborate with contractors to resolve commissioning issues during testing.
• Develop and coordinate system test procedures and oversee document control.
• Support business development and new project sales.
• Lead team members with coaching and feedback.
