Smith Engineering seeks a Sr. Commissioning Engineer to lead field testing of HVAC systems, analyze BMS trend data, and drive energy savings for large commercial properties in NYC. This hands-on role requires deep knowledge of commissioning, RCx, and ASHRAE guidelines.

You will collaborate with chief engineers and facility teams to deliver high-quality projects, ensure safety, and push for data-driven improvements across central plants and building operations.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; 5–10 years in commissioning/RCx.
• Deep knowledge of HVAC, central plants, and controls; familiarity with ASHRAE guidelines.
• OSHA 10/OSHA 30 certification and strong safety focus on field work.
• Excellent communication with chief engineers, facility managers, and project teams.
• Tenacious problem-solver with data-driven approach to identify root causes.

Responsabilidades

• Field Commissioning & Testing: in-field functional testing and retro-commissioning of HVAC and BMS.
• Energy Savings & Investigation: identify building performance issues and opportunities for energy savings.
• BMS & Data Analysis: analyze trend data to evaluate equipment performance and troubleshoot issues.
• Compliance & Retro-commissioning: execute Local Law 87 RCx and ASHRAE-aligned activities.
• Field Communication & Stakeholder Engagement: collaborate with engineers and operators on site.
• Process Enhancement & Innovation: improve data collection and analytics processes.
