Job summary

American International Group (AIG) is seeking an Executive Underwriter for AIG Risk Management in Illinois. You will underwrite Workers’ Compensation, General Liability, and Auto Liability lines, managing complex accounts and shaping underwriting strategies.

You will collaborate with brokers, distribution teams, and other underwriters to expand portfolio share, negotiate terms, and lead technical guidance. AIG offers competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university.
Minimum 5+ years of Commercial Insurance experience.
Strong relationships and communication skills.
Advanced knowledge of US Casualty lines (Workers’ Comp, Auto Liability, General Liability).

Responsibilities

Underwrite Workers’ Compensation, General Liability and Auto Liability primary Casualty lines.
Develop underwriting strategies for renewals and prospects within assigned accounts.
Negotiate pricing, terms, and deal structure with brokers and clients.
Provide technical direction to management, staff, and brokers.
Collaborate with Distribution and Territory Managers to cross-sell and grow portfolio.
Review underwriting guidelines and participate in audits.
