Job summary

American International Group (AIG) is seeking an Underwriter for Financial Lines to manage a portfolio of new and renewal business. This role requires strong relationship-building, negotiation skills, and financial analysis to assess risk and determine premiums.

You will collaborate with distribution teams, brokers, and other underwriters to expand profitable accounts, while providing guidance to brokers and insureds. Office-based in Puerto Rico with a focus on client service and risk management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration (Accounting, Finance, or related area) or equivalent experience.
• Exposure to underwriting concepts and experience is a plus.
• Proficient in Adobe and MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Underwrite a range of new and renewal Financial Lines business.
• Negotiate pricing, terms & conditions, and deal structure with brokers and clients.
• Analyze financial statements and supporting documents to assess risk.
• Expand broker network and build new relationships across the market.
• Collaborate with Distribution and other underwriters to target desirable accounts.
• Quote and issue Financial Lines policies to grow profitable business.
• Determine acceptability of risks and appropriate premiums per guidelines.
• Provide support and training to Brokers and Insureds.
