Job summary

You will mentor junior staff, lead underwriting initiatives, and contribute to the bank’s strategic goals while collaborating with Relationship Managers to structure and pursue opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration.
• Seven (7) years of specific credit underwriting or Business Banking underwriting experience.
• Specific credit underwriting experience for specialty portfolios should come from experience in the specialty lending area.
• Proficiency in mathematical concepts, in order to apply to practical situations.
• Knowledge of advanced accounting principles and techniques.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform financial analysis and risk assessment for the commercial credit portfolio including Business Banking, Commercial & Industrial, Commercial Real Estate, and other lines set by Bank.
• Review loan applications and analyze credit information to assess applicant’s creditworthiness.
• Determine whether proposed loans conform to Bank lending policy.
• Provide feedback to management on structure, underwriting, and loan management.
• Maintain communication with management on transaction status.
• Spread statements for new business opportunities and renewals.
• Prepare credit memos for new and renewal requests on complex credits and large clients.
• Lead in CAR preparation for presentation to credit authorities.
