Job summary

Landmark Credit Union is seeking a Commercial Banking Underwriter to assess new loan requests, renewals and annual reviews. This role prepares credit analyses, evaluates collateral, and determines risk.

You will interact with loan officers and business borrowers to ensure accurate documentation and compliant loan structures. Responsibilities include annual reviews, risk rating updates, and supporting loan committees.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business or related field with 5+ years in business/commercial credit analysis.
• Strong financial and credit analysis skills and knowledge of collateral documentation.
• Experience with credit analysis systems and loan/deposit products.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, problem solving, and organization.
• Ability to use independent judgment while maintaining confidentiality.
• Compliance with company policies, procedures, and laws.

Responsibilities

• Meet with loan officers/ borrowers to understand loans and requests.
• Complete credit analysis and risk rating to support loan decisions.
• Provide feedback and model appropriate loan structures.
• Contact professionals to clarify questions on credit packages.
• Attend loan appointments to aid profiling when needed.
• Request collateral documents and resolve issues proactively.
• Request financial statements for annual reviews.
• Perform annual reviews and monitor risk ratings.
• Maintain review and risk rating reports.
• Present analysis at Commercial Loan Committee meetings when asked.
• Assist in annual review of lending policies.
• Perform loan audit reviews as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
