Job summary

Wake County Government is seeking a Senior Appraiser to perform real estate appraisals of commercial properties for ad valorem tax purposes, ensuring fair and equitable property assessments across a diverse range of property types.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in real or commercial property appraisal.
• Associate's degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field is required.
• North Carolina Department of Revenue - Real Property Appraiser I within one year of employment

Responsibilities

• Specialize in commercial property valuation for countywide revaluation and annual listing periods.
• Review, analyze and implement all three approaches to value for all types of real property.
• Review complex Income & Expense statements to determine value.
• Analysis of different commercial lease types.
• Site visits to gather physical and economic information to appraise properties.
• Revalue land due to splits, combinations, new parcel creation and zoning changes.
• Review information supplied by taxpayers and perform analysis to support and defend values during all levels of appeals.
• Assist with other tasks as determined by real property managers
• Provide technical guidance and leadership to the staff in the absence of Appraisal Manager/Supervisor
