Fifth Third Bank in Bakersfield, California is seeking a Portfolio Manager II to manage a portfolio of commercial loans and underwrite transactions. You will review financial statements, assess borrower risk, and partner with Relationship Managers and Credit Risk throughout the deal lifecycle.

You will structure covenants, evaluate collateral, monitor risk, and prepare well-supported credit recommendations while maintaining accuracy in records and compliance with internal policies.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree required in Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in portfolio management or related discipline.
• Strong accounting, credit analysis, portfolio management, structuring, underwriting, and legal documentation.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• Maintain an independent current and forward-looking view on the creditworthiness of each client and communicate this view to business and risk partners.
• Perform monitoring actions; conduct periodic deal reviews; and execute decisions to renew or modify deals.
• Work closely with Credit Risk and Relationship Managers to actively manage the bank's exposure to the clients in the portfolio.
• Analyze historical financials and projections to ensure accurate risk ratings, early identification of emerging credit problems, and articulation of industry trends.
• Manage underwriting, approval and documentation process for transactions which may include new money, loan extensions, amendments, waivers and ancillary products, including treasury management, FX, interest rate derivatives, and commodity exposure.
• Review and recommend credit decisions; perform final risk rating analysis; provide business partners with credit lending policy interpretation.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory guidelines.
• Actively involved in the recruiting, training, and mentoring of junior team members to enhance their skills and performance.
• Meet with prospects / clients as needed.
• Create and deliver comprehensive portfolio performance reports and presentations for senior management, offering strategic insights and high-level recommendations.
• Ensure the highest standards of accuracy and integrity in system records and electronic files, supporting advanced compliance and data governance initiatives.
