Job summary

Octopus, a tech-powered energy company, is hiring a Senior Commercial Operations Analyst in Houston to help shape pricing, contracts, and analysis for residential and commercial segments in the US. You will own pricing across products and customer contracts, build automated models, and deliver commercial reporting.

You will collaborate with commercial, sales, finance, operations, and tech, improve tools, and streamline processes.

Qualifications

• Analytical confidence in data, able to spot issues and explain numbers clearly.
• Coding basics in Python or SQL with clean scripts.
• A simplification instinct to turn messy problems into reliable processes.
• Curiosity with rigour to use modern tools or AI while validating results.
• Self-starter mindset to work autonomously through ambiguity.
• Willingness to roll up sleeves in a lean, fast-growing team.

Responsibilities

• Own and support pricing across the business: product prices, customer contracts, and the analysis that sits underneath them.
• Support day-to-day commercial operations, including analysis and reporting.
• Produce clear commercial reporting and ad hoc analysis for the team and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with commercial, sales, finance, operations, and tech on weekly needs.
• Improve how we work by building better tools and reports and reducing manual workarounds.
• Run independent projects with light supervision in a flat, fast-moving team.
