Job summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Manager based in New York, NY. The role oversees contract administration and performance across design and construction phases, ensuring compliance, risk management, and effective stakeholder coordination.

Occasional travel to project sites may be required with flexible remote work. In this position you will manage modifications, claims, invoices, and risk registers, leading negotiations on change orders and variations while aligning design

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• 10 years of experience in design management and contract administration or related field or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• Experience and knowledge of commercial and contractual processes in large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Experience managing complex contracts and resolve disputes effectively.
• Experience in articulating ideas clearly, negotiate agreements, and manage stakeholder relationships.
• Experience analyzing problems, forecast risks, and implement solutions.
• Experience with invoice review, audit support, and grants management.

Responsibilities

• Administer contract(s) ensuring compliance and performance.
• Manage contract modifications, change orders, and claims resolution.
• Serve as primary interface for commercial and contractual challenges during design progression.
• Monitor financial performance, identify risks, and recommend corrective actions.
• Support dispute resolution and DRB processes.
• Review invoices and deliverables for compliance with contract terms.
• Coordinate closely with Project Manager and Legal on official contract actions.
• Maintain vital records for audits, grants management, and contract closeout.
• Trend and manage E&O activities and commercial impacts on design packages.
• Prepare weekly performance updates for leadership.
• Lead development and maintenance of project risk registers.
• Support negotiations for contract change orders and variations.
• Manage design issues impacting construction packages.
