The Commercial Loan Operations Solutions Lead at Flagstar Bank serves as the senior SME responsible for resolving complex operational issues, conducting root cause analysis, and driving continuous process improvement across Commercial Loan Operations.

This role partners with operations, technology, data governance, risk and control partners, and leadership to develop sustainable solutions and champion operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Education level required: High School / High School Equivalency (GED, HiSET, TASC) / Foreign Equivalent.
• Minimum 8+ years of commercial/banking lending or related functions.
• 6+ years’ experience in commercial loan operations with complex problem resolution and process improvement.
• 6+ years’ experience of system configuration within commercial loan platforms such as AFS, ACBS, DNA, and/or LoanIQ.
• 1+ years’ experience in coaching and/or mentoring other operations professionals.

Responsibilities

• Application and Project Oversight: oversee system performance, data integrity, and policy development for loan servicing.
• Lead transformation initiatives to modernize processes, systems, and workflows in Commercial Loan Operations.
• Collaborate with lending teams to ensure timely processing and cross-functional alignment.
• Review reports to ensure reconciling systems are in sync and maintain accountability.
• Lead Lean Six Sigma initiatives to evaluate inefficiencies and drive improvements.
• Provide training, coaching, and knowledge sharing to sustain improvements.
• Serve as primary escalation point, manage end-to-end resolution of complex customer and operational issues.
• Communicate resolution timelines clearly and maintain documentation through the process.
• Adhere to regulatory and compliance policies; perform required compliance training.
