Find Great People | FGP partners with a well-established Columbia law firm to hire an experienced Commercial Litigation Paralegal who will support attorneys through all phases of litigation on complex commercial matters. The role emphasizes organization, detail, and strong drafting and research skills.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in litigation, excellent research and writing abilities, and proficiency with MS Office and case management software.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's in Paralegal Studies, or equivalent experience.
• Paralegal certification preferred but not required.
• Minimum of 5 years of litigation paralegal experience, preferably within commercial litigation.
• Strong understanding of litigation procedures, court rules, legal terminology, and discovery practices.
• Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with clients and legal professionals.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys in preparing for trials, hearings, depositions, and mediations by organizing and managing case materials.
• Draft, file, and serve legal documents, including complaints, motions, discovery requests, subpoenas, and related pleadings.
• Conduct legal research and analyze statutes, case law, and other relevant legal resources.
• Manage and maintain case files, ensuring accurate organization of both electronic and physical records.
• Coordinate all aspects of the discovery process, including document collection, review, production, and tracking.
• Communicate professionally with clients, expert witnesses, opposing counsel, and court personnel regarding case matters.
• Assist with trial preparation by organizing exhibits, preparing witness files, coordinating logistics, and maintaining trial notebooks.
• Monitor court deadlines and litigation calendars to ensure compliance with procedural requirements and case schedules.
• Support attorneys with day-to-day case management and strategic litigation initiatives.
