Job summary

First Northern Bank of Dixon seeks a Commercial Lending Officer to develop, evaluate and approve customer loan applications for commercial lending. You will manage relationships with clients, originate loans, and work to grow a robust loan portfolio in a dynamic banking environment.

The role requires experience in underwriting, credit analysis, and cross-selling bank products, with a focus on commercial and real estate lending. Competitive pay and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED and a bachelor's degree preferred; strong underwriting standards knowledge.
• Minimum of 5 years' related experience in commercial lending and underwriting.
• Strong technical skill with Microsoft Office and deep understanding of commercial bank programs.

Responsibilities

• Generate new loan opportunities from existing portfolio clients and outside sources.
• Originate and renew Commercial & Industrial loans and Owner Occupied Real Estate loans.
• Promote and cross-sell other bank products and services to customers.
• Interview applicants and collect information for loan applications.
• Request financial statements and pertinent data for loan evaluation.
• Prepare loan packages and negotiate terms including fees and repayment options.
• Review financial status, credit and collateral to determine feasibility of loan approval.
• Prepare and present credit analyses and recommendations for borrowing requests.
• Monitor portfolio quality and work with leadership to ensure sound management.
