Job summary

ATS is seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Building Inspector to independently oversee inspections and coordinate complex projects, including high-rise, multifamily, schools, and data centers. The role emphasizes ownership, clear documentation, and professional communication with owners and stakeholders.

The position also involves mentoring junior staff, developing inspection practices, and contributing to the growth of ATS's commercial inspection program.

Qualifications

• Five years of progressively responsible experience in commercial construction inspection
• Strong knowledge of commercial construction methods, plans, specs, and model codes
• Ability to identify, document, communicate and follow through on significant issues

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive inspections of new and existing commercial construction for code compliance
• Take day-to-day ownership of inspections, planning, scheduling, and documentation
• Review drawings and submittals to prepare for inspections and identify conflicts
• Document findings clearly and distinguish code violations from recommendations
• Communicate professionally with owners, contractors, and stakeholders
• Lead coordination conversations and escalate when necessary
• Mentor less-experienced inspectors and contribute to team development
• Maintain licenses and participate in continuing education
