Job summary

ATS is seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Building Inspector to oversee inspections and coordinate complex construction projects, including high-rise, data centers, and large facilities. The role emphasizes ownership, clear documentation, and professional client interaction in demanding settings.

Ideal candidates will have ICC certification and state licenses, travel ability, and a track record leading teams and mentoring younger inspectors.

Qualifications

At least five years of progressively responsible experience in commercial construction inspection.
Strong knowledge of commercial construction methods, plans, specs, and codes.
Ability to document and communicate issues clearly with clients and technical stakeholders.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive inspections of new and existing commercial construction for code compliance.
Take day-to-day ownership of assigned projects, including planning, scheduling, and documentation.
Review drawings, specs, submittals, and reports to prepare for inspections.
Document findings clearly and distinguish code violations from recommendations.
Communicate professionally with owners, contractors, architects, engineers, and authorities.
