Job summary

Orion Placement is seeking an experienced HVAC Service Technician for Marlborough, MA. This on-site, field-based role involves traveling to customer sites to diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems, including systems under 10 tons.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial or industrial HVAC service and repair experience.
• Massachusetts Journeyman Refrigeration License required.
• EPA certification required.
• DOT medical certification required.
• Ability to travel to customer sites and participate in rotating on-call coverage.

Responsibilities

• Independently diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on specialized HVAC equipment supporting critical commercial facilities.
• Troubleshoot mechanical components, electrical circuits, refrigeration systems, and electronic controls.
• Service commercial HVAC equipment, including systems under 10 tons.
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation to identify and resolve complex equipment issues.
• Diagnose problems using modern monitoring equipment and diagnostic tools.
• Respond to customer service requests and deliver efficient, reliable repairs.
• Maintain accurate service records, maintenance reports, and field documentation.
• Communicate professionally with customers and provide outstanding technical service.
• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule for emergency service requests, including occasional nights and weekends.
• Follow established safety procedures and maintain excellent workmanship standards.

Location

Marlborough, MA. This is an on-site, field-based opportunity involving travel to customer locations throughout the service area. Ideal for experienced technicians who enjoy working independently, tackling varied technical challenges, and making a direct impact.

Note

Candidates must have 5+ years of commercial or industrial HVAC service and repair experience and an active Massachusetts Journeyman Refrigeration License. Strong experience independently diagnosing and repairing commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems is essential. A valid driver's license and EPA certification are also required.

• Strong independent troubleshooting experience with commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Solid understanding of electrical systems, refrigeration circuits, wiring schematics, and electronic controls.
• Relevant technical training and field experience consistent with senior technician responsibilities.
• Valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and required DOT medical certification.
• Ability to travel to customer sites and participate in rotating emergency on-call coverage.
• Strong communication, documentation, and basic computer skills.
• Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of field service work, including equipment handling and lifting.
• NATE certification or additional HVAC continuing education is advantageous.
