Job summary

Utica National Insurance Group in Charlotte, NC seeks an experienced claims professional to handle commercial general liability claims with moderate complexity. You will investigate, evaluate, negotiate and resolve claims, interpreting coverage and communicating with insureds and legal representatives.

The role requires a four-year degree or equivalent experience, 5+ years in CG liability claims, and licensing as an adjuster.

Qualifications

• Four year degree or equivalent experience required.
• 5+ years of claim handling experience with commercial general liability.
• Experience handling litigated files preferred.
• Knowledge of Southern venues (TX, GA, NC, SC) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Investigate, evaluate, negotiate and resolve CG liability claims.
• Draft comprehensive coverage position letters.
• Manage defense of complex regional CG liability claims across jurisdictions.
• Handle non-litigated and some litigated claims.
• Operate independently with minimal supervision and settle within authority.
• Attend mediations, trials and hearings as needed.
• Mentor less experienced team members.
