Job summary

gpac is seeking an experienced Commercial General Construction Estimator to join a respected Massachusetts firm. You will prepare conceptual, budgetary, and hard bid estimates for commercial projects and coordinate with subcontractors.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of GC estimating experience, can read drawings, and will develop competitive proposals. This role offers a salary of $125,000–$150,000 with commissions and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of commercial construction estimating experience with a General Contractor.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate conceptual, budgetary, and hard bid estimates for commercial construction projects.
• Perform quantity takeoffs using estimating software and construction drawings.
• Solicit, evaluate, and compare subcontractor and supplier bids.
• Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and industry partners.
• Analyze plans, specifications, and project documents to ensure complete project scope coverage.
• Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving alternatives.
• Collaborate with project managers, operations, and leadership during preconstruction.
• Prepare bid packages, scopes of work, and proposal documents.
• Understand construction sequencing, scheduling, means, and methods.
• Assist with project handoff after successful award.
