Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to join our team in Myrtle Beach, SC. This role focuses on commercial restoration, building façades, waterproofing, and related projects, delivering accurate estimates, budgets, and competitive bids.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of estimating experience, deep knowledge of construction methods and materials, and proficiency with Bluebeam, Procore, and PlanSwift. Travel to project sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred/required.
• 5+ years of construction estimating experience.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
• Experience preparing competitive commercial construction bids.
• Experience managing or estimating project budgets.
• Proficiency with Bluebeam, Procore, PlanSwift, or similar estimating software.
• Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Review construction drawings, specifications, bid documents, and project scopes.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs.
• Develop estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracted work.
• Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations.
• Prepare conceptual, budgetary, and detailed estimates.
• Develop and maintain cost databases and estimating tools.
• Identify potential project risks, cost impacts, and opportunities.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Prepare bid proposals and supporting documentation.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project walkthroughs.
• Assist with value engineering and identify cost-saving alternatives.
• Track historical project costs and compare estimated versus actual expenses.
• Assist with contract negotiations and change order pricing.
• Build relationships with industry stakeholders and potential project sources.
• Help cultivate strategic partnerships that contribute to continued company growth.
• Manage multiple bids and deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
