Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced Construction Estimator for on-site work in Charlotte, NC. The role focuses on commercial restoration, facades, waterproofing, and related construction estimates, with duties spanning takeoffs, bid development, vendor Quotations, and cost-saving strategies.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of estimating experience, proficiency in Procore/Bluebeam/PlanSwift, and strong Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
• 5+ years of construction estimating experience.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
• Experience preparing competitive commercial bids.
• Experience managing or estimating project budgets.
• Proficiency with Bluebeam, Procore, PlanSwift, or similar software.
• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret specifications.
• Willingness to travel and valid driver's license.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Review construction drawings, specifications, bid documents, and project scopes.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs.
• Develop estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracted work.
• Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations.
• Prepare bid proposals and supporting documentation.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project walkthroughs.
• Assist with value engineering and cost-saving opportunities.
• Track historical project costs and compare estimated versus actual expenses.
• Manage multiple bids and deadlines with accuracy.
• Build relationships with industry stakeholders and potential project sources.
• Help cultivate strategic partnerships for company growth.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
