Senior Commercial Estimator - Aerospace

Job summary

Bell Textron Inc. in Fort Worth, TX is seeking a Senior Estimator, Commercial to support proposal activities and develop cost estimates for aircraft sales and services.

In this role you will work with Sales, Contracts, Training, Operations, Spares, Finance, and Supply Chain to assemble proposal packages, review inputs, and ensure schedules meet RFQ/RFP/RFI requirements. A background in accounting/finance and aerospace pricing is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Math or related field; MBA preferred.
• 2 years pricing, estimating, cost controls, business management, industrial engineering or related aerospace/DoD experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of US Government contracting, experience with FAR, or familiarity with commercial aerospace pricing.
• Advanced knowledge and experience using MS Excel; working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, and Access.
• Knowledge of overhead costs, burden costs, pricing factors, and other rates in price development for proposals.
• Apttus, SAP, Enovia, and Salesforce experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to read blueprints.
• Desirable organizational, multitasking, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Support pre-proposal activities and reviews to define proposal requirements clearly.
• Utilize historical data to prepare material cost estimates for pricing requests.
• Request and review inputs from functional areas, Bell off-sites, and supplier quotes.
• Perform quality review of cost estimates to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Ensure proposal schedules adhere to RFQ/RFP/RFI requirements.
• Assist with audits and negotiations with customers as required.
• Interact with Sales, Contracts, Training, Operations, Spares, Finance, and Supply Chain.
• Support build-up of proposal/estimate packages and files.
• Help others understand cost and price inquiries.
