Job summary

IES Commercial, Inc. – DBA IES Electrical, a leading electrical contractor, seeks a Commercial Electrical Construction Project Manager for our Suffolk, VA operations.

You will oversee all phases of commercial electrical projects and drive safe, on-time, on-budget delivery. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in electrical construction PM for $10M+ projects, hold an engineering or construction management degree (preferred), and possess a valid Journeyman or Master Electrical license (preferred).

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ electrical construction project management experience in all phases of electrical projects $10M+ including mission critical, ground-up construction, and remodeling.
• Bachelor's Degree in engineering or construction management preferred.
• Valid Electrical License on the Journeyman or Master level strongly preferred.
• Proficient computer, communications (oral and written), and interpersonal skills.
• Business knowledge of vendors in respective electrical construction industry.
• Ability to travel.
• Successfully pass pre-employment (post offer) background check, and MVR check when responsibilities require operating motor vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Provides overall management in all phases of construction for one or more commercial electrical projects and develops new business opportunities relative to a particular Client, group of Clients or geographical area.
• Manages projects to exceed customer expectations and ensures work adheres to NEC, safety policies and OSHA requirements.
• Establishes project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within corporate policy.
• Represents company in project meetings and assists in labor negotiations and strategy meetings.
• Manages financial aspects of contracts to protect company’s interests and maintains good relationships with clients.
• Travel as required.
