Job summary

Ascent Electric in Ridgefield, Washington, seeks an experienced estimator to own bids from invitation to signature. You will drive the estimate, strategy, and negotiations with general contractors to secure contracts that are both competitive and profitable.

You will partner with the existing pre-construction team on design costs, buyout, and quantities while maintaining a proactive pipeline and clear communication across field teams and leadership.

Qualifications

• Experience in estimating and bidding commercial and multifamily projects in the $500K to $10M range.
• Proven ability to convert opportunities into signed contracts.
• Strong analytical skills to assess market trends and margins.
• Excellent communication to keep field teams and leadership aligned.

Responsibilities

• Own each bid from the invite through the award: build the estimate, set the strategy, make the case to the general contractor, and get the contract signed.
• Strategically hunt down work rather than waiting on the invite list and win work for Ascent.
• Make the margin call on every job: know current position, market direction, and prevent unprofitable deals.
• Coordinate with pre-construction on design, costs, buyout, and quantities to ensure competitive numbers.
• Maintain pipeline, bid-to-award rate, and backlog visibility for field scheduling.
