Job summary

Vortex Doors in Schaumburg, IL is seeking an Experienced Commercial Pedestrian and Automatic Door Repair and Installation Technician with 4+ years of door industry experience to join our team.

You will install, troubleshoot, and repair automatic doors, access control, and related hardware, while ensuring safety and code compliance. A valid driver license and willingness to work overtime are required.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 4+ years in the commercial door service industry.
• AAADM certification is a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, and repair Automatic Doors and related hardware.
• Diagnose door issues: springs, hinges, locks, electrical components.
• Install/configure door hardware including locks, handles, closers, and access control.
• Ensure compliance with safety codes and standards.
• Provide clear explanations and cost-effective solutions to customers.
• Maintain accurate service records of visits, repairs and installations.
• Resolve technical issues efficiently and communicate with customers.
• Perform quality checks to meet company standards.
