Job summary

Vortex Doors, America's leading commercial and industrial door repair company in Carrollton, TX, is seeking an Experienced Commercial Door Technician. The role involves installing, repairing, and maintaining doors, docks, and related hardware across customer sites.

You will diagnose issues, suggest cost-effective solutions, and uphold safety and quality standards in every service call. Ideal candidates have 4+ years in the door industry, strong mechanical aptitude, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Excellent mechanical and technical skills.
• Physically able to move items weighing 50 lbs. or higher.
• Climb ladders up to 20' and work on knees for extended periods.
• Interpersonal skills to relate to customers and solve issues.
• Excellent communication in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Ability to relay information clearly under pressure.
• 4+ years in commercial door service industry.
• AAADM certification is a plus.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and protocols.
• Proficiency with reading a tape measure and basic math.
• Comfort with using computers.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, and repair commercial doors, docks, and hardware.
• Diagnose door-related issues and perform repairs.
• Install and configure door hardware and access control systems.
• Ensure door installations meet safety and building codes.
• Provide clear customer explanations and solutions.
• Maintain records of service visits, repairs, and installations.
• Communicate efficiently with customers to offer cost-effective solutions.
• Perform quality checks to meet company standards.
