Job summary

Vectra Bank Colorado in Denver seeks an experienced Commercial Credit Underwriter/Senior Underwriter to deliver credit judgments, structure complex deals, and support portfolio management for local businesses.

You will collaborate with Relationship Managers, present to approval authorities, and help modernize underwriting through smarter tools while ensuring compliance with banking laws and policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years in commercial credit underwriting or related experience.
• Extensive knowledge of commercial/business lending concepts and underwriting procedures.
• Strong ability to analyze balance sheets, income statements, and cash flows.
• Knowledge of lending laws, policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to assess risk, mitigation factors, and make well-supported conclusions.
• Excellent customer relations and communication skills, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite local and large commercial credit requests generally over $5 million.
• Analyze complex C&I relationships, multi-entity borrowers, and tailored structuring.
• Prepare concise, risk-focused credit presentations for elevated approvals.
• Partner with Relationship Managers to ensure complete credit packages.
• Present recommendations to approval authorities and committees.
• Support modernization initiatives in credit workflow and tools.
