Job summary

The role focuses on commercial and industrial lending, CRE, and specialized lending, requiring strong analytical skills, regulatory knowledge, and the ability to mentor junior staff.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical and critical thinking with expertise in financial statement analysis and risk assessment.
• Proficiency in financial analysis software and Excel.
• Excellent written and verbal communication to present complex financial information clearly.
• Experience mentoring or supervising Credit Analyst staff is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Determines underwriting information meets bank policy, procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Interprets loan documentation and identifies necessary documents to complete files.
• Reviews loan terms to assess structure and purpose; suggests improvements.
• Performs background checks and uses credit bureau data to assess risk.
• Analyzes higher-risk or specialized industries common in commercial lending.
• Prepares underwriting documents for senior management approval and defends assumptions.
