Qualifications

• LLB degree or equivalent legal qualification.
• Admitted as an Attorney or Advocate of the High Court of South Africa.
• Excellent analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
• Strong negotiation, drafting, and risk assessment skills.
• Ability to lead and manage multiple priorities under deadlines.
• Experience with complex technology or services agreements.

Responsibilities

• Lead drafting, review, and negotiation of commercial contracts (software licenses, service agreements, partnerships, NDAs, MSAs).
• Provide strategic legal advice to sales, procurement, and business development teams.
• Develop standardized contract templates and playbooks.
• Manage contract lifecycle and amendments/ renewals.
• Oversee disputes and provide negotiation or litigation support as needed.
• Stay current with developments affecting commercial contracts and provide guidance.
• Mentor junior legal staff or contract managers.
• Collaborate with departments to translate business needs into sound agreements.
• Advise on IP considerations within commercial agreements.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
