Job summary

Canto seeks a senior in‑house Legal Leader to build and scale a modern contracting function. You’ll drive commercial SaaS agreements, implement AI‑enabled workflows, and manage CLM systems to accelerate deal velocity while mitigating risk.

Reporting to the CFO, you will partner with Sales, Finance, Security, and executives across the US and Europe, shaping the future of the legal function at a scaling SaaS company.

Qualifications

• JD with active bar membership.
• 5–8 years of legal experience in SaaS or tech, in‑house or mixed with law firms.
• Strong experience negotiating commercial SaaS agreements (MSAs, subscriptions, DPAs, NDAs).
• Working knowledge of data privacy frameworks (GDPR, CCPA).
• Ability to build processes from scratch and scale a legal function.
• Experience partnering with Sales and GTM teams in fast‑paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate and execute commercial SaaS agreements (MSAs, subscriptions, DPAs, NDAs) within guardrails.
• Lead end‑to‑end contracting operations with AI‑enabled processes and CLM templates.
• Oversee vendor contracts and data privacy (GDPR, CCPA) across geographies.
• Partner with Sales, Security, Product, and executives to align legal with business goals.
