Job summary

Engtal is seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Project Manager to lead projects from preconstruction through closeout in Indianapolis. The role emphasizes budgeting, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and ensuring safety, quality, and client satisfaction.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years with a general contractor, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders while maintaining project goals and timelines.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial construction project management experience with a general contractor.
• Experience managing ground-up commercial construction projects and/or large-scale renovations.
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, contracts, budgets, and project schedules.
• Proven ability to manage subcontractors, suppliers, clients, and internal project teams.
• Experience with cost tracking, forecasting, change orders, procurement, and project documentation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all phases of commercial construction projects from planning to turnover.
• Develop and manage project budgets, track costs, review invoices, process change orders, and forecast.
• Develop and update project schedules coordinating with subcontractors, owners, and field personnel.
• Solicit and review subcontractor bids, negotiate scopes, manage agreements, ensure performance.
• Review drawings, estimates, and documents to identify issues and support constructability reviews.
• Coordinate material procurement, equipment orders, and long-lead items to prevent delays.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting minutes, and daily reports.
• Serve as primary contact for owners, architects, engineers, consultants, and stakeholders.
• Monitor progress with superintendents to resolve field issues and align schedule with execution.
• Ensure work meets contract requirements, codes, quality standards, and safety expectations.
• Identify risks and communicate concerns to leadership.
• Oversee punch lists, inspections, commissioning, and turnover.
