Job summary

Hillside Employment Services LLC is seeking a Construction Project Engineer to provide technical and administrative support to Project Managers and the project teams through the lifecycle of commercial real estate development and construction projects.

You will coordinate documentation, monitor schedules and budgets, manage subcontractor communications, track progress, and ensure compliance with contract documents, safety standards, and quality requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction or related field; equivalent experience accepted.
• 5+ years of commercial construction experience preferred.
• Experience with ground-up construction and renovations.
• Experience with CRE development projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers in planning, coordinating, and executing commercial construction projects.
• Monitor project schedules and identify potential delays.
• Prepare and distribute meeting agendas and meeting minutes.
• Coordinate project startup, closeout, and turnover documentation.
• Maintain accurate project records and document control.
• Review construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Process RFIs and Submittals/Shop Drawings.
• Assist in preparing Change Orders and Change Order logs.
• Track Owner directives and Architect instructions.
• Assist with budgeting and cost tracking.
• Review subcontractor invoices for accuracy.
• Prepare and monitor Purchase Orders.
• Assist with monthly project cost reports.
• Track contingency usage and pending change orders.
• Update and monitor construction schedules.
• Coordinate subcontractor activities.
• Assist in identifying scheduling conflicts.
• Monitor milestone completion dates.
• Coordinate with Superintendents regarding project progress.
• Perform periodic site visits to monitor quality and progress.
• Verify completed work prior to payment applications.
• Coordinate inspections and testing.
• Serve as liaison between Owners, Architects, Engineers, Municipal agencies, Contractors, Vendors, Property Management, Internal Development Team.
