Job summary

LHH US is seeking an experienced Estimator for its Triad Region, NC operations. This full-time role focuses on developing accurate estimates for commercial and institutional projects, with emphasis on public and hard-bid work.

The incumbent will drive takeoffs, subcontractor negotiations, and bid proposals in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in commercial construction estimating, strong reading of drawings and specs, and proficiency with estimating software.

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of commercial construction estimating experience.
Experience estimating public-sector and hard-bid construction projects.
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Building Science, or related field preferred.
Valid driver's license.
Proven ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously.

Responsibilities

Prepare complete and accurate cost estimates for commercial construction projects.
Manage multiple bid opportunities simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
Perform digital quantity takeoffs from drawings and specifications.
Review plans, specs, and contract documents to ensure scope completeness.
Solicit, review, and analyze subcontractor and supplier pricing.
Develop detailed project estimates and bid proposals.
Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, owners, architects, and design teams during preconstruction.
Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving alternatives.
Maintain estimating databases, bid records, and historical cost information.
Participate in post-bid reviews and project turnover meetings.
