Job summary

Pleasant Valley Corporation, based in Medina, Ohio, is seeking an Estimator to develop accurate cost estimates for commercial construction projects ranging from $50K to $5M, including ground-up and tenant improvements.

The role requires experience in bid preparation, subcontractor coordination, and a strong grasp of General Conditions. The office is in Medina, with opportunities for professional development and ongoing education.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years in commercial construction; 7–9 years acceptable without a degree.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management preferred but not required.
• Proficiency in electronic plan reading and take-off software.
• Strong understanding of project-specific General Conditions and General Requirements.
• Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Bid preparation and analysis: Review bid documents to prepare accurate cost and labor estimates.
• Subcontractor and supplier coordination: Solicit quotes and qualify proposals for completeness and scope.
• Scope development and documentation: Create detailed Scopes of Work and Basis of Estimate supplements.
• Collaboration and oversight: Work with Junior Estimators, Estimating Coordinators, and PM team.
• Process improvement and education: Maintain pre-construction standards and pursue relevant certifications.
