Job summary

The Construction Estimator position at a Midwest-based commercial general contractor in Milford, OH focuses on estimating and preconstruction for ground-up, renovation, and remodeling projects. You will handle quantity takeoffs, cost estimation, bid packaging, subcontractor coordination, and travel to project sites as needed.

This hands-on role works with Project Management and Operations teams in a primarily office setting with occasional travel; base salary targets range from 80k to 100k per

Qualifications

• 2+ years of commercial construction estimating experience.
• Commercial ground-up construction estimating experience.
• Experience reading and interpreting commercial plans and drawings.
• Experience soliciting, reviewing, and comparing subcontractor bids.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel required.
• Experience using construction estimating software.
• Ability to work full-time in the Milford office with 1 day WFH once established.
• Occasional travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze construction drawings, blueprints, plans and specifications.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and calculate costs for labor, equipment, and materials.
• Prepare detailed construction cost estimates, bids, and proposals.
• Coordinate subcontractor bidding and bid invitations.
• Review subcontractor bids for scope and pricing.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and conduct site visits as required.
• Collaborate with Project Management and Operations teams.
• Prepare project documentation, schedules, and material release plans.
• Travel to project sites to collect measurements and data.
