Ideal candidate has 7+ years in Commercial Casualty with leadership experience and a strong technical background in liability, property damage, and settlements.

Qualifications

• Extensive leadership experience directing claims teams.
• Deep knowledge of Commercial Casualty claims and exposures.
• Strong negotiation and settlements skills.
• Solid understanding of policy interpretation and reserve practices.
• Excellent analytical and decision-making abilities.
• Experience with public entity or governmental claims is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee a team of claims professionals handling property and casualty claims.
• Act as a technical resource on high-severity loss claims and complex liability matters.
• Provide coaching and development to improve team performance.
• Evaluate files for investigations, coverage, reserves, and resolution strategy.
• Oversee litigated matters and work with external counsel on strategy and settlements.
• Maintain accountability for claim quality, inventories, and productivity.
• Assess financial exposures and guide reserving and settlements.
• Promote consistent claims procedures and regulatory compliance.
• Identify opportunities to improve workflows and reduce costs.
