Job summary

BG Staffing is seeking a Commercial Building Engineer II in Austin, TX 78701 to operate, maintain, troubleshoot and repair building systems in a commercial real estate environment. Must have commercial real estate experience (non-residential) and be able to manage HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire life safety tasks.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years building engineering or closely related field with some project supervision experience.
• SMT preferred / SMA coursework or progress toward.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to lift 50 lbs.
• CFC Universal License (or within 90 days of employment).
• Respond to emergency situations during non-business hours with urgency.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, troubleshoot and repair building systems in a commercial real estate environment.
• Oversee mechanical/HVAC equipment, electrical, plumbing and fire life safety tasks.
• Monitor energy use and support energy saving initiatives and certifications (LEED, Energy Star).
• Coordinate with vendors for major repairs and manage plan libraries and drawings.
• Perform regular interior/exterior inspections and maintain site utilities and security systems.
• Ensure safety compliance with OSHA guidelines and building codes.
