Job summary

Colliers International in Austin, TX seeks a Building Engineer to maintain daily operations, respond to client requests, and manage maintenance activities to keep systems running safely and efficiently.

This role requires HVAC/electrical/plumbing knowledge, strong organizational and communication skills, and experience with budgeting, RFPs, and preventative maintenance programs. On-call availability is required.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of building/property maintenance or engineering experience.
• Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, energy management systems and building mechanical equipment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Flexibility to be on-call for after-hours/weekend emergencies.
• Working knowledge of work order and preventative maintenance software systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and check daily operating logs for HVAC and general building systems.
• Ensure tenant service requests are handled efficiently at the most economical cost.
• Assist in developing the annual budget and RFP process for budgeted projects.
• Demonstrate understanding of operating procedures and chemical treatment levels for cooling towers and boilers.
• Develop and maintain relationships with property managers, suppliers and department leaders.
