Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
• Typically a minimum four years of relevant experience, preferably in claim handling.
• Must have or be able to obtain and maintain an Insurance Adjuster License within 90 days of hire.
• Professional designations are a plus (e.g. CPCU)

Responsibilities

• Manages an inventory of commercial claims by verifying policy coverage, investigating, developing resolution strategies, and authorizing disbursements within limits.
• Provides exceptional customer service by communicating with insureds, claimants and partners with timely updates.
• Verifies coverage and establishes reserves by interpreting policy language and coordinating with counsel.
• Conducts investigations to determine compensability, liability and damages by gathering documents and statements.
• Establishes relationships with internal and external partners to resolve claims efficiently.
• Authorizes settlements within authority and escalates when needed.
• Contributes to expense management by timely resolving claims and overseeing resources.
• Identifies subrogation or fraud opportunities and refers to Recovery or SIU as needed.
• Maintains compliance with state/local regulatory requirements and CNA guidelines.
