Job summary

Orion Placement seeks an experienced litigation professional to lead commercial arbitration matters for technology company clients in a hybrid New York City environment. You will own case strategy from inception through resolution, work directly with clients on strategy, risk, and outcomes, and mentor junior attorneys and staff.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years of litigation, 4+ years of commercial arbitration, and a strong motions practice background, including drafting and arguing dispositive

Qualifications

• Active admission to the New York State Bar.
• 8+ years of litigation experience.
• 4+ years of commercial arbitration experience.
• Demonstrated personal injury defense experience.
• Strong motions practice background.
• Experience drafting and arguing motions to dismiss and to compel arbitration.
• Excellent written and oral advocacy skills.
• Ability to independently manage a substantial caseload.
• Strong client relationship and communication skills.
• Experience supervising or mentoring associates and support staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial arbitration proceedings for technology company clients from inception through resolution.
• Develop and execute case strategy in coordination with clients.
• Handle arbitration motions, hearings, appeals, and related litigation.
• Draft and argue motions to dismiss, motions to compel arbitration, and other dispositive motions.
• Defend personal injury claims in the New York City metro area.
• Manage a high-volume caseload with strong organizational skills.
• Coordinate litigation strategy, deadlines, discovery, and hearings.
• Collaborate with attorneys across the firm's broader litigation practice.
• Mentor associates and support staff while serving as a senior team member.
• Maintain strong client relationships through strategic guidance.
