The attorney will manage complex disputes from inception through resolution, handling court appearances, depositions, and strategic negotiations.

Ideal candidates possess NY Bar admission, strong litigation skills, and a track record of independent file management.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of substantive commercial litigation experience.
• Admission to the New York State Bar and good standing.
• Independently manage litigation files from inception through resolution.
• Substantial courtroom experience, including appearances, conferences, hearings, and motion practice.
• Strong deposition experience, including preparing witnesses and taking/defending depositions.
• Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, negotiation, and oral advocacy skills.
• Sound judgment and the ability to develop practical litigation strategies for sophisticated clients.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple active matters and deadlines.
• Portable book of business is not required.

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial litigation matters independently from initial case assessment through final resolution.
• Develop case strategy and advise clients regarding risks, objectives, and potential outcomes.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery demands, responses, and other litigation documents.
• Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts.
• Appear in court for conferences, hearings, oral arguments, and other proceedings.
• Conduct written discovery, oversee document production, and resolve discovery disputes.
• Prepare clients and witnesses for depositions, hearings, and trial.
• Negotiate settlements and participate in mediations and other alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
• Collaborate with partners, associates, paralegals, and clients while maintaining primary responsibility for assigned matters.
• Maintain responsive client communication and provide clear, practical, and business-focused legal advice.
