Job summary

Capital One in Richmond, VA is seeking a Principal Associate in Commercial Accounting to support LIHTC and Alternative Energy equity investments within the Controllers Group. You will handle journal entries, reconciliations, analytics, and prepare SEC and regulatory reporting with presentation to management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or military experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in accounting, external financial reporting, audit, finance, or a combination.
• At least 2 years of experience with Google Office or Microsoft Office products, or a combination.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review accounting-related activities, such as journal entries and reconciliations, analytics and support and prepare external Securities and Exchange Commission and regulatory reports, including documentation and presentation of results to management and senior leadership
• Serve as the main point of contact engaging with business partners on Tax Credit Investment product offerings, primarily LIHTC and Alternative Energy investments, and assess new or changing business initiatives to determine the impact on existing processes, as well as VIE/Consolidation reporting
• Respond to requests from Finance and key business partners, associates throughout the Controllers group, Operations teams, and external and internal auditors
• Present results, findings, risks and recommendations to leadership and stakeholders
• Collaborate with several teams across the organization on various corporate initiatives
• Contribute to process improvement through project development and knowledge sharing
• Participate in key corporate projects such as technology and data transformation, process improvement, and business initiatives
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to resolve issues and stay connected on process or product changes
