Job summary

Capital One is seeking an Associate, Accounting - Commercial Controllers in McLean, VA to support FINRA/SEC regulated broker-dealer activities. You will prepare journal entries, perform month-end close, and manage interdepartmental interactions with finance, tax, and auditors.

The role includes preparing analytics for leadership, supporting regulatory reporting, and driving automation efforts to improve processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• At least 1 year of experience in accounting, finance, securities or related field.
• Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting preferred.
• FINRA Series License (7/10/24/27/99) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries and monthly reconciliations.
• Perform month end closing and financial reporting processes timely and accurately.
• Manage accounts payable for business and interface with Enterprise Supplier Management.
• Prepare and present monthly, quarterly and other ad hoc analytics for leadership.
• Support quarterly SEC and Regulatory Reporting and other ad hoc requests.
• Interact with Finance, controllers, tax, and auditors and participate in projects.
• Support automation and data transformation efforts and drive process efficiencies.
