Job summary

The Boeing Company in Florida, Kennedy Space Center, seeks a Senior Commercial Crew Command and Data Handling Engineer (Level 4 or 5) to lead hardware/software integration and supplier coordination within the C&DH System.

Role requires extensive experience in electrical/electronic systems, test planning, and cross‑disciplinary collaboration; on-site 1st shift; US Person and NASA export control compliance required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
• Level 4: Typically, 9 or more years' related work experience
• Experience in defining test plans, procedures, and reports to validate performance specifications
• Level 5: Typically, 14 or more years' related work experience
• Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Communications Engineering, or Computer Engineering
• 5+ years of experience working with electronics and circuit design
• 5+ years of experience integrating hardware and software components into a functional system
• Ability to troubleshoot and verify electronic circuits using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, signal generators, function generators and multimeters
• Experience interacting with internal and external suppliers
• Must be willing to work variable shifts; including day, evening, night, and weekend as needed

Responsibilities

• Oversight of hardware delivery, maintenance and install through cross-team coordination amongst several different areas of expertise.
• Flight Software interaction and other component interfaces to be understood for complete functionality comprehension of all C&DH components.
• Strong communication and organizational skills required to collaborate across multidisciplined teams.
• Strong initiative and independent learning preferred to complete tasks with minimal oversight.
• Leads work with customers to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements.
• Leads and coordinates work to analyze and translate requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs and interface specifications.
• Leads work to test and validate to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements.
• Oversee the team that monitors supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements.
• Solves problems concerning and provides other support of fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle.
• Research technology advances for potential application to company business needs.
• Make recommendations for technology investments.
