Job summary

City of San Diego seeks a Senior Code Compliance Supervisor to coordinate inspections, investigate code violations, issue notices, and ensure compliance with municipal codes. Requires one year of supervisory experience; valid California driver license; designation for wildfire mitigation is highly desirable.

Qualifications

• One year of full-time experience supervising personnel responsible for the enforcement of a variety of federal, state, county or municipal codes and ordinances.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise the work of subordinate supervisors and staff engaged in inspections, investigating code violations, issuing notices and citations, and ensuring compliance with municipal codes and regulations.
• Review casework to ensure alignment with department priorities and best practices; prepare written reports and correspondence.
• Design, develop and oversee outreach programs to reduce illegal dumping; handle Council requests and citizen complaints; participate in hearings and provide testimony and documentation.
