The role focuses on conducting PRC 4291 and AB 38 defensible space inspections, providing wildfire-preparedness and home-hardening education to residents, documenting compliance using departmental mobile devices, performing re-inspections, identifying non-compliant properties, and assisting with defensible space outreach and inspection-program operations.

The position also manages inspection records, prepares official notices, ensures quality control of field data, and delivers recurring training on defensible space laws, inspection processes, and technology use. Candidates must meet the Arduous Fitness Standard, receive annual medical clearance for respiratory protection equipment, and be available for night, weekend, and holiday assignments as required.
