Job summary

The Sherwin-Williams Company is seeking a Senior Chemist to provide technical leadership in coating formulation, troubleshooting, and product stewardship for the Industrial Wood Maintenance of Business team. You will partner with Manufacturing, Sales, Marketing, Quality, and Technical Service to resolve issues and maintain product performance across markets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
• 5+ years of experience in coating formulation and application.
• Experience resolving technical issues and leading root cause investigations.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical activities supporting maintenance of business objectives including product stewardship and sustaining existing product lines.
• Investigate and resolve internal and external technical issues with structured problem solving and corrective actions.
• Coordinate technical activities with Manufacturing, Sales, Marketing, Quality, Procurement, Technical Services, and external customers.
• Ensure timely responses to customer requests and manufacturing issues while maintaining product quality and regulatory compliance.
• Mentor and develop chemists and laboratory staff through technical guidance and coaching.
• Prepare technical reports and communicate findings to stakeholders.
